Vehicle Description This 1973 1800ES commuter and project car is 22 years owned and driven in the Owens Valley--dry desert air--and 100% an eastern California and southern California car.
B20F (fuel injected 2 liter) engine with 3 speed automatic transmission (type BW35).
The original paint is well oxidized, and there are a few small dings that should be fixed before a paint job.
There is very little rust anywhere on this car.
The interior is mixed.
The rear seats and door covers are in good condition, as is the headliner.
The front seats need to be reupholstered, the carpet replaced, and the fabric for the folded-down seats should be replaced.
The engine runs well.
The tires are in excellent condition; the tires and battery are new within the past 2 years.
This car has been garaged for my entire 22 years of ownership, but saw some sun damage prior to 2000.
Please contact me with any questions regarding condition.
This car is currently registered and insured, and is driven periodically to keep the battery up, etc.
I had planned to keep this car and restore her myself as a retirement project, but personal issues have changed that plan.
Consequently I have a large collection of both regular maintenance and repair/upgrade parts that will come with the car.
These include:
points, rotor, condenser, distributor cap, sending units for several engine gauges, fuel control unit, water pump, oil filters, fuel filters, automatic transmission filter kit, air conditioner charging kit (the AC was modified for modern coolant), speedometer cable, various odds and ends of body parts, and a new fuel tank plus the in-tank fuel filters.
The original fuel tank had one pinhole leak that was repaired and is still good.
Several gauges are starting to get shaky, such as the RPM gauge and speedometer.
I have the original owner's manual and several maintenance manuals.
